Please put me in touch with the projectionist that can align 2 sets of 2 projectors so perfectly, that you can use the exact same perspective correction and exact same blending on each set. I would like to marry him ;)
We are mounting the projectors so its mathematically symmetrical permanently :>
The only difference would be in hardware error from the manufacturer unless I'm mistaken. ><

Short of having manufactured cages, lining up two projectors that are stacked is always time consuming so I'd be very interested to know what method you are using to mount 2 sets of 2 projectors in 2 locations that will have the exact same relationship to the screen that you can blend one pair and have the other pair blend.

Oh they wont be stacked, they will be mounted to the ceiling spaced evenly apart with careful planning. There will be minor correction since they will be off center vertically but not by far since we are projecting a very wide image close to the ceiling. ^^
On a completely different note I realized arena was showing me a low memory warning and my clips started to lag every few seconds.

I checked my cpu only 10% used. Ram 5 gigs out of 32 used. None of my HDD / SSD's are close to max space and my video cards are running at like 25%.. Strange, I hope this is just a random occurrence. ><

Come to think of it I did have aftereffects and photoshop open at one point while Resolume was running. Maybe it didn't like that.

I wasn't suggesting to stack them, it was just an example to illustrate my point.

I won't be as daring as Joris and offer to marry the projectionist who can pull this off, but please report back when your installation is up and running as I'm curious!

I regularly run After Effects and Encoder on my main rig at the same time as Arena 5 and I don't have any issues but I have 48GB of RAM and leave 8CB for other software to run. Go to your preference settings in your After Effect and make sure you leave at least 8GB of RAM available for other application to run.

I'll definitely report back with how it goes assuming we can get everything strait with our venue!
Also I didn't ram preview with AE the other night. I just Rerendered some footage that was causing strange fps drop in Resolume. I'll definitely look into setting aside some memory for just AE! Thanks a bunch!

Oh, off hand do you know if Avenue can open a Arena composition? I read it works going the other way.. Based on what I see it doesn't go Arena > Avenue..

Set aside some processors for resume too, rendering its one of the most demanding tasks.

Arena 4 and avenue 4 compositions should open fine in the other, you'll need to manually edit the arena 5 comp to be able to open in v4 serach for the first MajorVersion value and change it from 5 to 4.
You may lose some settings or functions.

To change the version, open the AVC file with an xml editor. Here is where you'll find the information in the file and what you need to change to open an Arena 5 file with Avenue 4 (I used openoffice.org to edit the XML file in the photos below):
Arena 5.0.1.png
Change majorVersion to 4.png
After you save it with Avenue, the XML file will be changed to your version of Avenue 4 (In this example Avenue 4.5.1)
Avenue 4.5.1.png
and of course all the functionality specific to Arena 5 (timecode, DMX, Artnet, advanced mapping, etc...) will not be available

Ahh makes sense! Its a bit like how we use to modify maya asking files using notepad c++ to open the file in different versions.

Oh awesome! I'll get good use out of this! Thanks a bunch man for the detailed info. I have both versions but someone else has the machine with arena on it and I needed to make a render using avenue. xD

Please put me in touch with the software developer who decided to link the soft edge function of every unique display together in Arena 5...so that changing the blend on one display changes ALL of them...assuming that somehow the blending conditions would be identical across EVERY display. Or who decided that given many users' frustrations it still isn't a priority for the next update...

(shots fired) :o

Just kidding around, Joris. You've been great at answering users on the forum, and there's a separate thread for this one. But clearly, from your quote, you understand why this new "feature" has been troubling. Of course, I cannot go back to an advanced output without zoom or undo, either.

Carry on...
