Take a look at this old thread of mine where i used two datapath X4 with a 2013 MacBook Pro. Not quite the same scale but I think you might find it informative!

Thank you Oaktown. Just talked to the Resolume dev guys and they made the suggestion to remove one of my GPUs for it to run faster. The reason is that if you use both the calculations will be sent from one card to the other to support calculations but this extra way can cause slight reduction in frame rates...

As we need this PC for rendering as well I can't remove the second card right now but I will do so later so I keep you updated about the results...

Are you sure both your GPUs are installed in the right PCIe slots working at full X16?

What's your motherboard/CPU combo and what else do you have installed in your PCIe slots?

Yes very sure.

Using a ASUS PRIME X299-DELUXE with the latest i9-7980XE with 18 cores.
Have a sync II card installed and a 4K60 PRO capture card from elgato.

Further the two graphic cards and the CPU are watercooled, so no heat issues there.

Coming back to my previous post;
I have now removed one card and indeed I have now steady 30fps without having one frame dropped...
To be honest I have also updated Resolume to version 6.0.5 at the same time but this can't be the only reason that it runs so smooth now. Simultaneously I have also connected the sync card to the Datapaths and now all the displays are in sync too.

My only issue now is that I need to play around with motion blur etc. as my displays don't perfectly playback everything smooth enough...
