I guess you couldn't drive your external displays without it - I can't on my 2012 machine - but worth a check.
The log file or Show display info should show on your output which gpu is the renderer.

Nope, of course it's like DXV3 and other obvious things, I checked those long time ago

So regarding the preview bug since R6 I got a Béta from 6.0.11 to check if it was gone and it is, also, and this is a very big improvement, the fps stayed rather stable around 50fps as I set in the comp. settings and it worked out fine in 27degrees with a little fan underneath my mac, so fingers crossed, but it seems that this release has something in it that stops the weird framedrops, excellent!
