And again, I would rather enter a timecode in HH:MM:SS than the Resolume xx:xx:xxx if at all possible.

Most likely not, but I made a ticket for our features bucket. to be able to sync clips transports together internally to a master clip.

The issue with coming up with a workaround is that everything is normalized in Resolume. That means a clip transport position is a float form 0-1. So to be able to punch in a time code in another app for AV clips, the other app would need to know the clip duration.

A workaround could be using a DAW to play a SMPTE track to Resolume, and the audio of your clips on separate tracks.
Then you could just jump around in the DAW timeline at will, though it's probably not very simple to set up live either.

The layer scrubbing works fine in v6, so if it's an option for you to revert back to Resolume 6, we might be able to help you out. Just drop us a mail to mail@resolume.com

That seems more trouble than it's worth. I would use the other program I gave you the link on, Pro Video Server, but they want $1500 per channel (layers), so to do 4 channels would be $6,000 (Pro Video Server).

Yet, a more complicated program they make (Pro Video Player) for churches and their video displays is only a few hundred dollars, so I don't get their logic.

I think we have a misunderstanding – I would prefer NOT to 'layer scrub,' but would rather enter a cue point time number.

I will look at Version 6 and try it, though – as long as it moved ALL clips in ALL layers in sync – it could be the next best solution.

Okay, Zoltan (and other Resolume experts) – Forgive me, but I am new to this program and type of workflow.

I am on Version 6 as you recommended. Loaded 4 music videos in Column 1 – all the same song but different camera angles. I move the transport to far left (beginning of the clip) and in the Composition hit "Play." Just like in Version 7, all plays in SYNC, perfectly.

Now say I get interrupted - the speaker asks me to stop and show the audience a different section. I can't type in just ONE timecode or cue point – I would have to do that in the CLIP window 4 times over and over again. That may take 30 seconds.

AGAIN: The goal is to, within <5 seconds, CUE a different point of the song, have ALL clips in Columns 1~4 SYNC to that cue point, and hit PLAY in composition just like I did at the very beginning, and have ALL clips IN SYNC continue from that point to the end.

Zoltan says I can't do that – I would have to enter the numbers of cue 4x (or if I have 8 layers, 8 times). By then the audience will be "BOO-ing" me off stage.

So now, I am on Version 6 to try and SCRUB the transport to a cue point, but unless there is a menu/preferences to LOCK ALL CLIP LAYERS to the FIRST LAYER, this is not working. Layers 2, 3, 4 do NOT follow Layer 1.

What am I doing wrong, or is it that this program WILL NOT do this at all? Why can't it be modified to add this feature? It is very simple to code that "LOCK IN STEP" and assign all layers to follow the transport/cue/scrub/time code of the 'master layer.'

As you see below (Version 6), I have slid LAYER 1 backwards to a different cue. Layers 2, 3 & 4 did not move from where the program was stopped. So hitting PLAY has them all out of sync now:
I can make a short video on how the other program does it in the next couple of days. It is so simple a task.

----> I don't want "another" app – I want to do this IN ARENA. The time numbers are so non-human friendly (e.g. 14728.91). I believe Resolume is counting frames or beats. If I know I want to go to 11minutes, 22 seconds, I should be able to enter 11;22;xx – don't need the leading 2-digits for HOURS unless I am past the 1 hour mark (1;11;22;xx).

-------> See my last reply – I think we are misunderstanding. Layer scrubbing works FINE in Ver 7, but I installed Ver 6 to try your suggestion. The problem IS NOT THE SCRUBBING. The goal is to scrub ONE LAYER and have ALL OTHER LAYERS FOLLOW in sync so hitting PLAY has the same CUE point.

THINK OF WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO LIKE THIS:
Multiple angles, all IN SYNC, WOULD BE loaded as separate LAYERS, so these (9) camera raw footage files would be (9) Resolume LAYERS:



STOP Resolume from Playing the Composition's (9) clips. Scrub or enter a timecode to jump to:
10:41:00:00

ALL (9) CLIPS go to that new CUE POINT.
HIT PLAY. ALL ARE IN PERFECT FRAME-ACCURATE SYNC TO LAYER (1).

All done in LESS than 5-seconds.

As I said entering a timecode one time to set n layers at the same time probably won't happen in the near future, natively in Resolume.
You might be able to create or find a third party solution for it.

Have a look at this video on the scrubbing setup with keyboard shortcuts, and how it behaves with 3 layers.
Layers are cropped to thirds of the output.

I can't find your program "Multilayer Sync Scrub" ANYWHERE on your page that you link to. Did you rename it to: "CLICKABLE TIMELINE FOR RESOLUME?" – Is this the same as "Multilayer Sync Scrub?"

The next question is see my previous Post in reply to you. I entered a dummy number "0" zero for the VAT, which does not apply to me because there was NO WAY to get out of an endless loop if I didn't check: "I am a business."

So frustrating!

I won't buy anything until you confirm that:
(a) Clickable Timeline for Resolume is the same as "Multilayer Sync Scrub" which you want me to use. I saw the YouTube video link you sent and that would help a lot – although I would still want the programmers to work on the feature request!

(b) To buy the program, am I going to have any issues with PayPal with a VAT number of "0" zero?
