Type: Source / Sampler / Synth / Plugin / Insert
Concept: Movie Production Center
Detail: The Movie Production Center is a source / sampler / synth that can input audio-video, save it to a pad (like MPC or FORCE or PUSH) and auto-sample chop BPM regions / audio-sync, across all pads to disperse the long form recorded fine video, across all pads equally, to play video like audio, using push pads.
Dilemma(s):
1) How to get a whole 45+ minute fine-cinematography video, to auto-chop segments across all pads equally, without manually sloppy-chopping.
2) How to midi map spread a whole video automatically across 16-64 pads, to play parts of a video like a musical instrument with visuals, in example, for ASMR beats... People like to see the original sound live being played big behind the performer, as live as possible (and we can latency-free, send wireless video into Resolume at this time
Trials:
a) I tried everything, from chopping in Resolve, through Alley DXV conversion of all 64 clips, but simple playback makes Resolume crash - I sent a few reports as it was happening and tried to describe what I was doing and what I changed.
b) MPC/Force has audio AUTOSAMPLING ability and I was wondering if Resolume had any interest in that ability for video. Resolume could LEARN where the chops are, to AUTOMATICALLY apply cues at exact time stamps and assign midi that way. It looks like maybe Resolume could autosample videos out to clips and have those mapped to midi. Or perhaps a whole new box would be needed in Resolume just for video sampling and finally getting PADS and ARRANGEMENT for Resolume video.
c) I loaded a 45 minute video into Ableton and exported only the audio and put that audio into MPC autosampler, with parameters set for the video to chop equally into REGIONS across 64 pads. Then I can play all the sounds randomly. But since the audio is detached from the video, I need something to connect and read the cuts accurately - we are not trying to fake it.
Conclusion: Since I beta test for Resolume with NDA, they told me in email to post this in the group to recruit someone or a few people to make this possible.
