it can be platform independent.... i don't know what programming language they are using for R3
but there are several programming languages that are platform independent like Java for example

It looks to be Mac and PC.. and also does have audio built in.. the blurb in french says that it allows VST plugins!!!

Yes like I said in the FreeFrame 1.5 news post we hope to release Resolume 3 this summer.
