Well, maybe if there was some more information coming out about all these great features that are in the next version (and when it is likely to be available to mere mortals), we would be able to make reasoned decisions.
The apparent secrecy doesn't help anyone.
We're sticking with resolume for now, but we are evaluating other options.

Waiting over 2 months from the release date with no word isn't really impatient. The least we deserve is a new ETA. Resolume is great. Give us more greatness

I don't write software, and I'm glad! Putting up with customers... sheesh... I eagerly await the new version of REsolume like everyone else, but REsolume works fine for what I'm doing now.... I waited 2 years for a new Version of adobe After Effects for goodness sake! 6-8 months after I got AE 5.5 I wasn't moaning about when the next version was coming out... cut them some slack cuz if they put out a buggy version, this whole forum is gonna be filled with even more complaints.... Let VJ'ers VJ and Software writers, write software! They no more about there product than we do ...

I'm sorry if some of my comments seem like moaning, and I don't mean to get at the Resolume developers- they have built a great software package and from some of the rumours I've heard, they have some great ideas for future features.
But, there are some limitations in the current public beta release (e.g. lack of full midi control of all mixing modes) that are really limiting the way in which we can use the software. If we want to develop our live show, we need these things to be sorted. These things are not big feature additions - more like completing the features that are there already.
I'm not asking Bart and Ed to deliver the next version right now. I've developed software, so I know the danger of rushed releases. All I'm asking is that they talk a bit more about what they are doing resolume-wise and when they expect a new release to be ready.
Go on! Excite us with some hints about the new features!

We are currently finishing things up for a new release before Eddy goes on a three week holliday on august 9th.
The main new feature in this release will be freeframe plugin support.
www.freeframe.org This is an open standard for realtime video effect plugins. We developed this with VJamm, Pete Warden and many others.

For the impatient ones - if you haven't already tried the freeframe test version, do it! That'll convince you Resolume is still moving forward. I just tried it the other day and I was stunned at what can be done realtime.
