I'm sure the desision to exclude an audio function is logical in terms of the interface etc... as we all know in this field of vjing the audio video side of things are taking on a lot of importance.

So maybe a resolume audio module that plugs into the resolume visualiser where you can set up various likages between the audio and video softs, trigering effects, speed, scratching etc...

for what it\'s worth

My suggestion would be a separate program for AV playback, using many of Resolume's functions but with a specifically designed interface. (reduced price for exsisting Resolume owners?)
For me audio is something I leave to the band while I am busy being a VJ.

for me vjing is not only to create some nice live videos for a party. it is everthing wich has to do with live performing video. this can also be in a theater, or an event, where you have to play videos with sound on demand. and i am working on a show, where i work with speech samples and the ambient sound of videos. ok use a dvd player. i tryed this, this doesnt work, its to slowly to look for the right dvd, switch through the menue and so on. ok use vjamm, i dont want to. and switching the software during a show is a fuck. and 2 laptops , no please.

i just want simple audio playback, no tricks, no different interface.
i can choose which clips have audio and when to use it and how. resolume has also many possibilities to do things with videos, wich dont make sense. but you are the master, you do what makes sense to you.

and resolume already plays audio, but only with flash files. no one has ever complained about it.

i dont want to look for a different software, i tried many.
so please do it. do it simple.

please

Oh yes do the audio thing.
As other posters have ointed out it would be great for non party vj situations. For my theatre and instalation work I have to use all sorts of hybrid rigs.
We all aggree that Reso is the BEST video player/mixer, so giving it uncomplicated audio out would be a killer move.
Ok so scratching is too hard but how about audio stops on scratch and random. Even just limited playback would expand reso into the non party niche and out into other av realms.
Also I must say that scratching AandV is just wicked and funny and psychadelic and spooky and beautiful and bent.
I will always go seeking it even if i have to use inferiior overal soft solutions like VJamm and Neuromixer.
Thanks for your work Reso Kids

Metaphorically speaking, audio would be the icing on the best tasting vision mixing

cake out there.

Why not own the market instead of sparking debate and forum fodder when it comes to who's got the best shit.

WELL I NEED IT!!! It should be down to the user to decide if they want audio or not. We can just take the audio off the vid if we dont want it or just have a mute option. problem solved!

I am designing an interactive installation and resolume would be perfect for this in every aspect but no audio.

Gutted to hear you have written the idea off.
