i get like 35-40 fps with the 2 years old model of MBP, with the new model u'll get little more because of the better graphic card... I use a lot of loops in the composition and yeah, deck switching is not that smooth, so i try to put as much as i can into deck1

cool thats what i was hoping for and with the newer model it should be quicker... i hope thanks for your feedback on it! i dont fancy spending the money on a ssd yet... like everyone else waiting for the price to drop.

when you say its not that smooth do you mean it takes a while to load or the video play back stutters?

it takes a few secs to load and and fps drops rapidly for that time

but its still good resolutions also when you upgrade your rig you'll have all your content ready to use and will be laughing

Do you think the i7 processor will have much of an impact on the deck switching? this is something i need to look in to!

i think it's more about HDD speed, than processor or graphics, 'cos while switching during the show u have already few stream going + u want to load all the loops in the next deck, and than it's also a bit of a software thing, about how resolume does the whole switching thing....

cool thanks again for your thoughts and yeah i suppose it is hdd speed... i'll just wait for the price of them to go down! mbp pro in 18 days and counting!
