I really dont understand this file size thread going around on DXV :
i just did a test with the latest DXV 2.1.1 codec ,
in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 i made a 5 sec file made of bars and tone in 720P format 25 fps
then exported it under quicktime animation jpeg A full quality(closest to Mjpeg correct?) size : 7.78 Mo
the same project exported under quicktime DXV, size 2.91Mo
i then used the quicktime animation jpeg A file in Mpeg Streamclip and transcoded it to DXV:
i got a 1.84 Mo file.
So, unless i made a mistake , DXV files a not really bigger then quicktime jpeg A or Mjpeg???
i compared the files in premiere vectorscope to see if i could find any luminance or chrominance differences, i a didn't find any diffences, except for detail rendering.
anyone else done some basic testing??
