Referance Aero I have ensured this is enabled.

I've also switched off 3D and antialising. Went to performance not quality which took the frame rate upto 99. But still the same problem.

Any other suggestions?

these two clips are running exactly identical! Jerky! :)
Maybe I should post the guest login to my mydrive server....so anyone can check your clips?

FULL HD with 25fps and 100% horizontal movement. That's difficult for every computer!

Thank you Cosmowe for checking the clips. I'm half relieved and half gutted. Relieved that its not just this machine, gutted that I'm no closer.

Your clip plays better though I do notice the odd dropped frame.

As for HD I have exactly the same problem with 800x600 clips (I've upload them). Resolume Arena is being pushed to the higher end of the market 'soft edging, screen warping, DMX input and SMPTE timecode input' the feature list I'm interested in. Features that go hand in hand with smooth professional playback.

Am I missing something? Or am I asking to much of Resolume 3? Does the engine for Arena have smoother playback? I've spent three long frustrating days on this. Resolume developers can you shed any light on this please.

If you don't mind others downloading the clips from your mydrive server please post the login in details.

once again Cosmowe thank for you help.

i don't see any visible differences between quicktime and resolume.
something stange is that 30/60 fps videos are shown as 29/59 fps in resolume.

maybe it's just a problem with the tft's we are using?
does it also happen on crt monitors?

There is no difference between the render engine for Arena or Avenue, and if you are getting 60fps, Resolume is working at optimum performance, so the problem must be elsewhere. Can you send us the link to your clips as well?

@cosmowe

All the video's play a bit jerky here, except for the "flyerflug" clip... smooth animation, no stutters there.
Also the 800x600 60 fps clip shows as 25 fps in Avenue.
The 800x600 30 fps clip shows correct 30 fps in Avenue.

@Cosmowe,

I tested these clips on my PC
(Windows 7 home premium 64 bit, MSI 870A-G54, AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition, 4Gb RAM (GVP34GB1600C9DC), NVidia 8800GTX)

The "flyerflug" clip runs really great here. And the playhead runs really smooth, also the output is just ok.

When i try the other clips and my own logo's with horizontal movement i have exactly the same stutters and not smooth playback... :( (this is not a new "problem", it was always there, but it's not that bad that i can't use it, but i "see" the problem...). The jerkiness is also visible in the playhead... so maybe the length of a clip has something to do with it... ?!? (thinking out loud)

I think 25 FPS is just really "slow" for fast moving clips. I'm going to give it a shot with higher fps videos... will post back later.

your playhead runs really smooth? How is that possible? :o
