And frankly speaking, MIDI has nothing to do with "sound" (Soundcard) - it's independent. I think they have bad code.
you are aware that MIDI is a language orriginaly designed for music ( Musical Instrument Digital Interface ) this is why on all machines its tied in with the soundcard ( unless you supply a seperate hardware midi interface )

I believe all of you do not understand the conception of MIDI design. As said before MIDI has nothing to do with Sound! Soundcard settings CANNOT affect on a MIDI.

Many times on this forum I saw people are talking about additional MIDI software - let's take a look on a MIDICLOCK: http://midiclock.com/ - does anyone think, that this one use sound processing to read BPM?

Let's say what is really going on... they have fucked up the code.

Sorry to hear that. But my wild guess is... in a VJ forum most people know exactly what MIDI does and doesn't here... Regarding your questions about the FreeFrame plugins my guess is that you're just brand new to Avenue... Am i right? ;-)

And no, they didn't fuck up the code, that's why it's working perfectly ok for most of the people :)

Your point about MIDI is partly right. And if i read your post, nothing is wrong with your MIDI in/outputs. The clock comes in and the ticker goes. So that's ok.

What we say is that you have to try the soundcard settings to get the BPM running.
Just try ASIO4ALL one time... ? (universal audiodriver)
For me, the primary sounddriver works (and worked) also great in every version. So i can not see the problem there. (Please try these settings before you try your Xone drivers!!!)

Before you try your Xone and other "exotic" audio devices, try to get it running with the default. Maybe your Xone drivers are not supported that well ? I really can't say.

Oh.. and don't forget.. it's a BETA!

Hey Zuzanna

If the quantization bar is not counting down, while the BPM is confirmed to be running, you are probably experiencing a bug. Please contact us directly at mail-at-resolume-dot-com, preferably with clear steps on how we could recreate and thus hopefully solve this issue.

I understand that this is very frustrating for you, but please refrain from swearing on a public forum.

Joris

This mean I need a "better sound card" (driver) for a simple math calculations? LoL

@goto10 thank you for answer. I'll do that...

The Asio4All option was more intended for you to eliminate some options/problems you maybe have with the DJ hardware (xone/audio8) in the first place. I had similar issues with dedicated audiohardware and BPM start/stop and MIDI timings inside Avenue when using this external hardware.

If it works with Asio drivers correctly, you can think in other directions.

But I see Joris ticketed the issue, so it will be reviewed!
Please let us know what the solution/bug was ?!

ASIO4ALL is free software!!! no hardware involved. Maybe just check it out? ;)

We got an email from a user (someone else than OP btw) that was experiencing the same issue with BPM synced clips not starting, while receiving clock from Traktor Pro 2. We managed to track it down to having to turn the Play Sync button in Traktor off and on. After that it's confirmed to run fine.

Hope this is helpful for future forum travelers.
