You lost me on this.
Sorry, here's what I mean:

And, yes, that C4d example is also great.

On the shape array, yes, absolutely what I had in mind, but with facilities to allow shapes to tessellate better, ie. hexagons to tile and circles to offset but I'm sure one could think up a whole swathe of parameters which in the end might just degenerate to a pixelate or polka-dot effect - but then, it might be good to rationalise some effects anyway.

You are probably right on the SVG side of things but I see a benefit in having a simple way to have user defined 3d content (and extrusion of simple vectors might be)

Yes this linear repeater sounds great, your content would need to have a alpha channel so you get an effect like this.

Something like duplication in X and Y the content being top repeated or under repeated :)
Plus the distance from the first clone.

Sadler let me know if you have all the parameters you where thinking of. I drew it up quick.

Thanks for putting those prototype images together.

I did a little thinking myself about what parameters would be most intuitive and here's what I thought:

No. of Copies
Spread Distance
Spread angle - although probably better done with z-rotate on Transform
Rotate Angle - incrementally rotate linear copies
Scale %
Y-Shift
Tint %
Fade %
Offset - where the scaling/shifting/fading/tinting starts - 0 first copy, 0.5 middle copy, 1 last copy

The above parameters assume a horizontal linear spread. Might want to consider a vertical or radial spread. This is somewhat reminiscent of fugFeedback parameters and the text repeater in AE.

If it turns out to be flexible enough to do this...

I got one more. Perhaps there is a FFGL out there I don't know.... so let me know.

A "Glitch FFGL" like the DataGlitch Plugin for AFX

Also in the new release of Resolume 4.1.9 twitch FFGL (works as a effect or a transision) was introduced which does a lot of the same functions, I used it when I did a party for the video game streaming service twitch for E3, kkkk

Horizontal Cloner ready for testing and add features, I have attached the zip for windows at the moment, Will compile a OSX version a little bit later. Need to buy a new Mac as well, kkkk. Please let me know if you encounter problems.
