you only have to set the position once per layer as shown in the video, not for each video.
if you need a clip on the other side just copy it to the other pos. layer.
you could add a crop effect to cut away video that would leak to the other side on layer level.
repeat for as many layers as you need.

oops, sorry. didnt notice how he clicked and moved from the Clip tab to the Layer tab. They are kind of similar so didnt catch my eye.
