edit: or something else: can i install such an "Esata PCMCIA card" on a new macbook? for this would solve my problems with ease.
Unfortunately the new macbook doesn't have pcmcia card, nor express card capability! So it only has usb 2.0.

What setting will I set to my additional IDE hard disk ? What setting on the jumper will I set to my IDE hard disk If I have already a SATA hard disk as the primary disk or the boot device?
