Yes.. i have tested now with 30 and 60 fps clips.

made these:

http://gyula.nl/ottb/Avenue/Avenue_jerk ... _30fps.mov
http://gyula.nl/ottb/Avenue/Avenue_jerk ... _60fps.mov
http://gyula.nl/ottb/Avenue/Avenue_jerk ... _30fps.avi
http://gyula.nl/ottb/Avenue/Avenue_jerk ... _60fps.avi

Both types stutter now and then, but its a lot more visibe with 30 fps clips. I have prioritized Avenue "high" in taskmanager, but that didn't made any difference. It's random here. Stutters are also visible in the playhead.
In VLC the mjpeg clips play smooth... in Quicktime the DXV clips play smooth but 60 fps looks a lot better then the 30 fps clips...

@HerrNieDa

Yeap tried different monitors (3 brands) and a Sanyo xp100.

Same result. Thanks for the suggestion, any other ideas?

@GeeEs

Thanks for looking. Your right 60fps does improve on the problem, but not solve it.

If I have to run everything at 60fps across multiple projectors then the system will choke.

Resolume support: is it possible to lock a framerate. A brand/night/clients logo should play without any stuttering. Get this right then I get a freehand to do the interesting creative work on the rest of the show. If it stutters I look like an amatuer.

Our render engine has a little flaw causing the 60fps clips never to run smooth, we fixed this internally last week. We will add this fix to an update for version 3 as well.

Hey Edwin! Great you find somethings in the renderengine but... as a fact.. it seems to me (and others in this topic) that 60 fps runs much more smooth than 30 /25 fps here .. ?!?

It's just that there is a stutter now and then, which is a lot more visible in 25/30 fps clips then in 60 fps clips) You can see that clearly when layered 2 exact the same clips with different framerates. (60 fps clip on top of a 30 fps clip for example) ... For me, it feels like it has something to do with backgroundprocesses/readspead...(unfortunately my SSD died on me so i can't test with that) but i can't confirm that either.

I hope the update with the render engine helps! but it's a bit strange that you find it with the 60 fps clips, while it feels a lot better to run 60 fps then 30 fps clips now...

(and of course... a 60 fps clip looks much better when moving fast from left-right then a 30 fps clip... But that's not the stutter we talk about ;-) )

GeeEs I've tried it with (and without) an SSD and its the same.

I think your on to something with background processes, either operation system or resolume.

@ edwin

With this fix does it mean a 60fps clip will now run smoothly? No stutters or jumps?

Its no drama to render out the important clips at 60fps.

Should I reaching for the credit card?

Resolume Guys and Girls,

Did you have a look at the clips? Do they play smoothly on your systems?

Will the fix mentioned above fix my issue?

A little help would be good.
