So we were a few weeks away from doing an event with lots of lights, smoke and some basic video projection onto a single screen when we found out the venue was double booked...

The alternative was an empty sports hall with no hanging facilities and smoke detectors so projections it was...
... after some draping of windows.

I took my inspiration from Coventry Cathedral that was just across the road, both the windows from the old bombed out building and the long thin windows of the new building.

I did the mapping across two projectors using Arena onto the fronts and one side of all the uprights.
Having the new mask feature in the advanced output made a big difference.

It was great having a gigabit network with a couple of our team producing content using After Effects and Premiere throughout the event.

We recently had the opportunity to take Arena on television - it's been driving the Versatubes for our fall tour with Tegan and Sara, and week before last that included an appearance on Conan.

As in the photo, Arena is controlled over Artnet by the Chamsys MQ100 we use for the tour lighting rig, the studio lighting on this one is by Conan's team.





Can't wait for the Chamsys MQ60 to arrive later this fall, we'll finally be able to carry a full FOH rig on the plane!

this night i am particularly proud of. i really like "minimal graphics" visuals as apposed to full blown "video", as i come from a lighting background, so i whipped this together. you can only see half of the "screen"(brick wall). HUGE!
