i'll try the no-preset tomorrow or next day here. also having same issue... oddly, it was getting progressively worse (flickering more and more frequently)... rtx 3070, running avenue, intel cpu. (i can get exact specs when in theatre next) ... the machine isn't on net, so hadn't updated (windows/graphics) it in a long time, so did updates (both windows, and manual nvidia drivers, no geforce/nv app stuff) a couple weeks ago, but no luck... still getting worse, and .much. worse two nights ago (as in every few seconds).

had venue order another projector, as what it .looks. like is similar to the dmd chip failing/not syncing correctly... but when trying a borrowed projector, with all new lines running to it, same issue. so back to computer... installed latest nv studio driver today, and frequency of flickers went .way. down (few minutes between, random timing, more common but not exclusive to brighter stills and dxv movies), but not completely gone.

so it does look like it's something in the nvidia driver that is being poked at, but not completely fixed... mayhaps something in the preset for resolume is exasperating the issue?

now that I have a few days until my next show, i will try the no-preset option (reinstalling same nv driver pack as i have in right now, after a full uninstall) and will report back.

at least if this works, then i'll have a good backup projector now. :) small theatres with tiny budgets... gotta love them.

I haven't done the reinstall (no-preset method) yet, I did get version numbers:

I went from Resolume 7.22.4 / NVidia Studio 572.83 (progressively worse flickering until it got really bad)
to Resolume 7.22.6 / NVidia Studio 576.02 (still flickered, but >much< less frequently than prior)

Both of the above installs done with manual d/l and install... I did not use the NVidia app. The 572.83 was installed after a complete driver cleanout (DMD? something like that)... 576.02 was installed over the 572.83 (normal upgrade procedure minus the app). A fairly current win10 is the o/s.

We do have a new (duplicate) projector on the way, and I will do the no-preset install after the projector swap-out... wanna make sure the infrequent flickers carry over to the new projector first (which I fully expect it to do)

Reiterating server's specs:
intel i9-12900KF (3,2GHz)
RAM 64GB
GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING Z TRIO 12GB,
Windows 10 Pro 22H2
2 Displays: 1) 2560x1440 (performing), 2) 1280x1024 (control)

Did custom NVIDIA driver install from 572.60 to 576.02 (16/4/25) Studio driver, clean install, ignored NVIDIA preset installation on Resolume starting up dialog box.
No obvious flickering observed yet.

I'll come back with any news, if ever.

Thanks Zoltan :D

That's what we're thingking too, so would be worth trying out a Studio driver from 1-2 years ago.

It yet seems exactly what is happening, yet.i Also see that files in DXV rendered on later version of any of above, run faster and more frequent into this glitchy issue. And it is a very clean checkerboard pattern.

im running now on december 2024 versions witch have some difficulties. But at least the output stays stable

When will 7.23 be released? It seems that this ignore setting resolves the issue, however I'm not very happy upgrading any of mu drivers / systems yet... (running 2025 January now)

Hi,
I'm experiencing the same issues reported in this thread, and I’d like to share the results of the tests I’ve run on a machine that shows the same problems described by other users.

Here are the system specs:
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 22631.4751 (23H2)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10980XE CPU @ 3.00GHz
Motherboard: ASUS WS X299 SAGE/10G
RAM: 32 GB

I’ve tested both an NVIDIA RTX 3070 and an RTX 4060 GPU.
The driver version used in both cases is Nvidia Studio 576.52.
Unfortunately, I encountered the same issues with both cards.

From what I can tell, it seems like Arena is failing to render some frames.
When running at 60 FPS, I experience the same type of flickering already described by other users.
However, if I force Arena to run at 25 FPS, the output becomes stable.

I also noticed something that might help developers find a solution:
If I set the Windows display scaling (in the display settings) to 125% or higher, the output becomes stable even when Arena is set to Auto FPS or 60 FPS.

Another thing I noticed is that if I open a Windows Explorer window while the output is running and then "shake" the window with the mouse, the flickering issue reappears immediately—suggesting it might be related to this kind of system interaction.

I have video recordings showing all of this, in case it helps clarify the situation.

I truly hope you can find a fix for this. Otherwise, we may be forced to stop using Resolume Arena, which we currently rely on in our company as a powerful media server for events.

Thank you.

Hi,
I've done some more testing regarding the flickering issue. I found that in the Nvidia Control Panel, under the Resolume Arena application settings, the Triple Buffering option was disabled. If you enable it, the output becomes stable. So far, I haven't encountered any problems.
This solution also works with the latest available drivers (576.80).
Can anyone confirm if this is a definitive fix?
Thanks!

Hello,

I'm having the same issues as described in these posts. It started with the first version of 7.22 and every update since. Downgrading to 7.21.3 (or earlier) resolves this issue for me.

For added info, I also ran the latest version (7.22+) Arena on an M4 Mac Mini for a few weeks with no issues. Definitely a Windows based issue. Only affects the output(s) Resolume is controlling.

I've been a Resolume Arena user for over 2 years, but this is the first time I've had issues like this. I run a very capable machine. We use Resolume to output to our LED wall for virtual production on a film stage here in LA. A single unusable frame (let alone a few seconds of random glitches) will ruin a shot, and is unacceptable to myself and Hollywood clients.

Windows 11
Lenovo P620
Threadripper Pro 3955wx
128GB ECC Memory
Nvidia A6000 GPU (Conservative driver 572.60)

Let me know if anyone needs more info from my setup to help them resolve this issue.

Please keep us informed on possible fixes. Thank you!

Did you try the solutions that were suggested in that thread above?

The solution that worked for most users from what I heard was to ignore the custom Nvidia profile that Resolume installs. To do so re-install your Nvidia driver, once you start Resolume after the driver installation you will be asked to install the custom Nvidia profile. If you see that popup hit "Ignore" to make sure that this profile does NOT get installed. This popup should then show up on every launch of Resolume and you have to hit "Ignore" every time, but if it stops the glitches this might be a good workaround. 7.23 will introduce an option to permanently remove that profile with no more popups.

Other troubleshooting steps that might be worth trying out:

- Make sure that all your power/performance settings are set to high performance, on Windows and in Nvidia 3D application settings

- Enable Triple Buffering in Nvidia control panel

- Change display scaling to something else than 100%. I've heard from some users that this helps, but I would only recommend it as a last step, as it is usually preferred for best quality to have all displays at 100% scaling

- Install an older Nvidia driver
