video's look dark

Hello,
I experienced some troubles during two vj sets at the same venue. The first time all of my video's looked very dark. I tried to adjust them by changing brightness / contrast, but the video's were still very dull and dark. I had this problem since the first minute of my set. The second time the same problem appeared, but the video's turned dark and dull after a few hours.
Does this have anything to do with the projector (If so; how do I solve it), or do I have to change my settings?
Thanks, Thanee

Yeah, first thing: test the projector. Try projecting anything else like a standard OS screen.
How does it look? Try adjusting projector´s brightness/contrast and... are all projector bulbs on? Some projectors have up to 4 bulbs. Also, how old is the projector (bulb lifetime)?
If everything is fine and you still have a bad projection from Resolume, check your composition and layering settings for anything that might be dimmering the images.
What about cabling, have you tried a different one?

It sounds like the projector could be switching into an Eco mode: Half lamps or half brightness.
Also like the previous post, if the projector has multiple bulbs and they are old, one or more may become intermittent and just work sometimes.

Are you OSX or WIN? - I'm not sure what difference this would make.
I had a problem where I was outputting grey instead of black. from what people are saying it does sound like the projector but originally i thought my problem was the projectors/LED Screens.

Thank you all so much!
The weird thing is that other vj's of the same venue don't have this problem. And I never used an other projector, ( I'm pretty new in the business) so I can't compare my show with other projectors.
I will check the projector and ask the tech guy about the bulbs and if there is a chance that the projector switched to eco mode.
(Although I don't think that's the problem, because at one show the visuals were dull from the first second) I will also bring an extra cable to check if that's the problem.
I use OSX.
I'm vj'ing tomorrow at the venue so I will let you know if the problem appeared again, and if I could fix it.
