I need help, yes dont we all.

Incentive to help me, you get free stay at my place. My place is in the Amazon jungle.

So I am an English guy who recently set up home here, I am an artist though not much digital.

I have been offered my Visa in exchange for VJ work. I would bloody love both.

The new club opens in about 2 weeks in the local town.

I have until then to get to grips with Resolume.

If any one is willing to get me rolling it would be fantastic.

I am working on a Sony Vaio. Intel Core i5-3210M CPU. RAM 6GB.

I have converted some film I have to AVI. They dont function. Suggestions?

I have photoshop, is it work me making a load of jazzy images? Will they be of use?

I think once I know how to make material and load it I can just put the hours in to see how to funk it up.

Thanks peeps!

Chris

Wow... Amazon is close enough, since I do live in Brazil as well.
But I never been there and I do not plan to ; ) What city? Manaus? I can´t imagine any other city close or in the Amazon capable of opening a house like you decribe. Anyway...

Forget AVI. Use Quicktime! And for safety, use the Resolume ' built in" Quicktime Codec: DXV. I guess it is already installed, along Resolume.
Most important: what is your video card? Resolume is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processor.
Resolume will work with JPEG and PNG files. But I would´t advise to work based on stills.

Make up your mind real quick. Resolume is all digital. You´ve got to load a video editor of your choice and start producing some video clips with quicktime and DXV in order to start using Resolume the way you want.

Again, good luck!

Thanks man!

I am actually in Rio Branco! MUCH smaller then Manuas!!

So yes I will use the DXV like you say but in order to use it I must BUY Quicktime PRO, Finalcut PRO, Adobe prem, or so on??? Is that correct? Is there a free way to use the DXV???

I know you guys will be banging your heads against the wall with disgust at my questions but this is how it begins lol

I guess this graphic card might work.
DXV is installed as you install Resolume. Or you may freely download it from the Resolume site.
There are some shareware video editors that will do the job on converting your AVI files to Quicktime DXV. You may search this forum after creating DXV files and you might find a cheap solution. But I´d consider buying a good video editor in near future if you plan to keep on VJ´ng.

look....
damstraversaz wrote:if someone is interested, Lightworks works wit the dxv format. that's really an amazing editor by the way, with some additionnals FXs from their community. and there is one free version. I will follow the advice and convert to another format most of time, but sometimes it could be useful to directly use dxv.
wow.. Rio Branco is almost out of the country in ACRE state. So far... ; )
Tell me when you come to Rio de Janeiro.

Thanks again man, What city are you??

I have some MOV files playing. That made me happy rsrs

While I am getting an idea of "The whole picture" for the VJ thing I am doing it cheap.

I am how ever really excited and look forward to buying some good gear to make it work well. First I need to learn a LOT!

As for the DXV where would it be?

Thanks again man, I will look at the link you sent.

You Star!

I´m in Rio de Janeiro.
When you open your video editor and save/select quicktime, then check for codec options. DXV will be there. Config is simple: just be sure to preserve or not to preserve your Alpha Channel before encoding. If you have a transparent BG, for instance, and you want to preserve it, that´s the way to go.

Cheers.
