switching from Basic to timeline mode

Hi all,
when I want to change an effect from the basic non-moving state to timeline mode, which enables to move the parameter dynamically, timeline mode always starts moving immidiately. I would prefer the timeline mode to start without movement. Then I could change speed and parameters like i want (e.g. make it start slowly).
Until now i always have to c/p the clip, assign the wished speed and fire it up.. thats to many steps for me and sometimes I even forget about the steps and the immidiate change from basic to fast moving timeline looks somewhat gruesome.
So my wish is:
when changing a parameter from basic to timeline mode, timeline mode should start paused or very slow.
Sure, talking with Joris' words, I can imagine that some people would actually feel the opposite, plus it's counterintuitive to set something to move, and have it not move. But what do you think?
cheers, yochee!!
