Whenever you add circle effect to a solid that has any dimension larger than the smallest dimension of the composition, you get a tinted background.

Composition: 1920x1080
Solid: 1920x1920 (for round circle, not elliptical), 1280x1280

Maybe also add a toggle for ellipse when matching widescreen resolutions?
