Hey all
First post so be nice ;)

I am about to buy a new license for Arena and so i need a new laptop.
I kinda settled on Asus G75VX http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G75VX/ and I want to use it with Matrox TH2Go. Seeing this laptop has only HDMI and DP and as the nVidia website says:

"Display Support:
Up to 2560x1600Maximum Digital Resolution
Up to 2048x1536Maximum VGA Resolution"

I wonder if i could actually use my Matrox on High res. and in High res i mean 3x720p and even 3x1080p

Anyone have opinion n that machine, video card ( nVidia GTX 670MX 3GB ) connections ?
Or advice about another machine etc .

The first laptop i liked was a Lenovo with SLI cards but as far as i know i will not benefit from that neither in Arena neither in Adobe or VVVV.

Thank you in advance to anyone with advice for me :)

VVVV can use SLI as far as i know....
there are matrox dual/triple head 2 go display port edition...
you can also connect an dp-dvi or dp-vga adapter and connect your digital or analog matrox.... should work!

and for example 3840x720 (3x 720p) has less pixels than 2048x1536 ;)

I have TrippleHead2Go Digital and tbh i`d prefer not to buy another just because of the damn DisplayPort :)
Also my Matrox was tested with my current low-end Dell via HDMI-DVI cable and managed to output 1920x480 ( low-res i know )
As i said i want to output 5760x1080 and i may hit a limit with the HDMI in the Asus so i am asking if anyone is using it :)

I know the nVidia GTX 670mx has the horsepower to drive this resolution with Resolume , only thing i don't know is if the DP or the HDMI in the machine are capable of outputting this kind of resolution.

Will whait for a few more days for more opinions and thanks for the answer

why not simply just try it....
see that you get a active display port to dual link dvi.... costs 10-30 bucks i think

edit: whoops... seems the active dual link adapters are more expensive https://geizhals.at/club-3d-aktiver-dis ... 11478.html

maybe thats the reason behind the matrox display port edition

with the new firmware update for your TH2Go Digital you should be able to use 3x1080p...
i think this should work cause for 2560x1600 you also need a dual link dvi ;)

erm i cant try as i haven't bought the laptop yet .

Dont want to buy another Matrox because i have used DP Edition and its only problems there.

I am asking if someone have this kind of machine and if he tested on High res so i have some real world opinion of it . Its not cheap you know, if it was 500euro laptop OK but this is more than 1000 and one does not simply buy it before knowing if it can do the job.

Haha - Fair enough.
Tbh its was the same for me.
Asus was rubbish for me - this was 3 years ago then I got swallowed by the Apple machine. I then moved to MBP and its been really good so far.

Dont get me wrong i think Asus is crap too
Normally i stick with Dell but i am kinda disappointed in the plastic "things" they sell nowdays and i really need a proper machine ...
I never thought it could be so hard to choose a proper laptop

Yeah I would of said Dell for an alternative. I haven't looked at PC laptops for a while. For the Mo I'll just stick with MBP but time for an upgrade soon for me too.

Do you go through laptops fast?
