Live Video Delay

Post by VJ Nexus »

I am using 2 cameras in my performances, one is a miniDV cam running in on 1394 and the other is a 3ccd Hi8 being input through an AverTV video capture card. The problem I'm having is the delay of the video when being output to the monitor. Does anyone else experience this? It gets better if I lower the process resolution, but the delay is there always, and often with frame loss. I am running Resolume on two computers simultaneously. 1) Athlon64 3000+, 1GB ddr3200, Western Digital 250GB 7200 8Mb, Maxtor 80GB 7200 8Mb, Radeon 9800 Pro 256. 2) Athlon2400+, 768MB ddr2700, 2xMaxtor 80GB 7200 8MB, GeForceFX5200. Primarily I use the Athlon64 to run the cameras.

This delay has caused a few bands to complain and was wondering what the best way to get rid of this, or at least minimize it as much as possible.
