Resolume causing My MacBook Pro to not charge
Posted: Thu Jul 25, 2013 04:52
Odd problem. I'm hoping some really advanced Mac user out there will be able to help out.
Early 2011 17" MBP 8,3
8gb DDR3, 750gb Hybrid HD in opt bay, 1tb Hitachi HD in HD bay
2.2 ghz i7, ati 6750 1gb card.
This has happened 2 weeks in a row now. If I am running nothing but resolume My computer is fine. But I never just run Resolume. I'm a VDJ, I am running Serato & Mix Emergency (ME) with Resolume's Output syphoned into ME. I also have a 10 port USB hub plugged in with several MIDI controllers (APC40, MPD32, DJM2000, 2x CDJ2000) and I have an iPad linked in via Touch osc and Adhoc network.
I have run this rig for nearly 2 years now all of this gear and software with virtually no problems. Resolume was the latest addition 6 months ago and up until 2 weekends ago I never had a problem.
Resolume is the last Program to start up (usually) but as soon as i start it (and it appears that when Resolume starts the 6750 take over from the intel 3000) my battery indicator changes from "charging" to "unable to charge" If i shut down Resolume it goes back to charging. If i leave it at "Unable to charge" I get about 45 minutes of battery life (assuming i started off near 100%) then the computer just shuts off.
Anyone have any ideas?
