??? adjusting clip lenght ???

 greetings!

i wonder, what methods of adjusting the clip lenght & speed to the music/beat you people are using.
regarding my experience, it is rather difficult to adjust a clip to loop excactly to a beat lenght for more than a minute! :o
the major problem i have is, that clips triggered the first time play significantly slower in resolume. after the first playback of a clip, the frame rate increases and the in and out points do not match the beat lenght anymore... :(

so if i want a clip to excactly always start at the "first hit of a beat " (?), i am kinda screwed, am i?

i really would be happy for any hints to work that out! any suggestions? :P

unclear?

Hello,

about your problem (clips triggered the first time play significantly slower in resolume. after the first playback of a clip, the frame rate increases )
I have the same.

and about matching clips with music beats I'd say there is no way to do this exactly for a long time, mainly because the beat is changing (unless your DJ is an electro Freak who plays the same beat for about half an hour...)

What I do when i want to synchronize with the beat with clips is more playing with effetcs using my keyboard shortcuts and tapping the beat manually.

You can also link effects to audio (but it is not beatmatch, it's... someting else, not always usefull but sometimes.)

hi, i've never had your problem since I don't use that method, but you can try to use the video in the first layer, and cover it with one layer so the video is actually running but not displayed, then use the speed to sinchronize the vid and the music... hope this can help

one thing you can do is set the frame rate so that it is as close to BPM as you can get, and the tap the clip button on teh beat every now and the, deppending on if it is getting out at all. alot of the time i use effects to tap out the beat. i have my wacom tablet midi-fied with that miditab program, then i set the presure axis to the the alpha of the selected channel. the find an effect that dramaticaly changes the colours, like solerize. then tap to the beat and it will flash white on the beat.

ive been doing this for the band i do visuals for and i even got the drummer to turn around mid show to see wtf i was doing :D

thx for first answers every1

yo levon!
i like the wacom tablet interface thing. sounds cool.

and i have been working around that isue in a similar way (adjust the speed, retriggering the clip now and then) but it doesnt really satisfy me.

i also tried triggering the clip at the beginning of the beat and then hit the SET OUTPOINT key at the end of the beat, which theoretically should work out fine, if clip playback speed wasnt changing all the time.

there must be some way to sync a video loop excatly to a music loop in resolume... !!!

any other input?
