Hi, my name is Renan and I am facing a huge problem when I try to playback video content through LTC/SMPTE time code function.
The problem is, when I play the music in another source and send the smpte to Resolume Arena in a Windows based PC through P2 connector jack, the video doesnt run smooth but when I look at the fps, its running with 60fps constantly, It runs ok, the sync with the voice and video is flawless but the video doesnt run well, it seems that is missing some frames or something. When I play the same video but in the Timeline mode, it runs smoothly without any stuttering. I have tried several things for at least two weeks to try to solve this but nothing made a significant change. I have tried to send the sound through optical fiber, through a Behringer external sound card via RCA connector, tried a professional PCIe soundcard from soundblaster, tried different fps for the sound, tried 30fps audio with 24 video, 24fps audio with 30fps video, 30 fps video with 30fps audio but unfortunately I was unsuccesful and also tried in a Macbook pro but unsuccesful though.
Are there anyone else with the same problem as I? I really need to make this work, any help would be marvelous!

What's your audio buffer set at?

Sorry for the question but how can I see and chanfe the buffer size? I am using Reaper64 for mac and I also have it for Windows.

I have found where. What I did is to open the audio file in adobe audition cs6 and then change the buffer i/o. I have tried with all of them(16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 and 4096) and nothing changes, i just noticed a small difference at 4096 buffer size. If it helps, I putted the same audio file in the video at resolume, directly and face the same problem as with the timecode.

Drazkers is referring to Resolume's buffer size, which can be set via the audio tab of the preferences.

another tip, try to use a software what can accept timecode and can send osc or midi signal (like Qlab). I usually use Qlab to accept the timecode and send an OSC signal to resolume. With this method I can shot a clip, or a whole column without selecting it.

I got and it worked! Buffer was at 2048 and I lowered to 1024 so it worked. I was facing this problem only in the Windows version, in the OSX version it was ok but the buffer was at 512.
How can I take the time code signal by the QLab and transform it to OSC? And how can I do this in Windows? Dou you know any program similar to QLab for Windows??

The method is:

- Set up the smpte timecode to the machine what runs Qlab (it can be the same what runs Resolume if you want)
- Set up the osc address in Qlab for the resolume machine (options-osc. You need IP address and port which is 7000 by default. If you using the same computer than use localhost, but change the port to 7000)
- create an OSC cue, set it to raw message and copy the chosen osc command (you can get it if you enable osc mapping in Resolume and click on a clip, or column, or whatever you want to control)
- Check the timecode trigger in the osc cue setting and set up the required timecode

If you set up everything right than the timecode will trigger the qlab cue what will send the osc command. If you use a gigabit local network then there won't be any delay or lag. I use this method to trigger two or more resolume server as well.
