5 Screen Output Testing feeding ATEM

OK this is going to be a hard to explain, but here I go.

I am test a 5 +1 setup tonight. 5 screens running 1080i 1 screen running 1024x768 as a control screen on a windows 7 pc. I have a HD7970 card with 6 outputs. Output 1 is feed the old vga control screen, outputs 2 thru 6 are feeding my ATEM 1 m/e switcher. This is not the show setup, but I like to test with the ATEM because I can see all of my outputs on the multi view while getting a real benchmark on how the show is going to preform. Outputs 1 thru 5 are total fine. Here is where it gets strange. Output 6 (1080i) only shows up on the ATEM if the advanced output open and touching the output 6s window, even just dragging a single pixel of the output window seem to help. Gets a little crazier. Since the ATEM system only has 4 hdmi inputs I'm using a Ultra Studio Express Thunder Bold and separate Macbook to go out dvi from the HD7970 in hdmi to the Ultra studio and out SDI from the UltraStudio in to the sdi input on the ATEM system. This causes outputs 2 thru 5 to receive an edid max of 1080i@30 while outputs 6s edid max is 1080p@60, but I'm still running the output at 1080i@30

Its worth notting that I'm trying to test a composition that is 7488x1080, if I switch the outputs to 720p@60 and change the composition to 4992x720 I'm not having this problem. (but thats no fun)

Hope that make sense.
