I have heard that MacAir is not a good option for Resolume, right?

What do you think about this?

Apple MacBook Pro, 13.3" Retina, i5, 4GB, 128GB
Notebooks
Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display - Core i5 2.4 GHz - OS X 10.9 Mavericks - 4 GB RAM - 128 GB Flashspeicher - 33.8 cm ( 13.3" ) breit 2560 x 1600 / WQXGA - Intel Iris Graphics -

Thanks!

Hello,

Please correct me if I'm mistaken chaps but;

I would steer clear of that one as it has only integrated Intel Iris graphics card. Resolume relies heavily on the graphics card for all the swanky maths it needs to do really quickly.

Unfortunately it looks like the minimum spec MacBook you'd need would be the 15" retina with a 2.3ghz i7

There's a good chance you'd be able to get a slightly older MacBook used from apple though. More options and way better prices, just look out for that discrete graphics card!

Bye :-)

I have found some good options like this. What do you think about this Graphic card:

MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, 13”/8G/250SSD/SD
2,5 GHz Intel Core i5 (Dual Core) Prozessor mit 3MB/L3-Cache
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (2 x 4 GB)
250 GB, 6GBit/s Samsung 840 SSD (Data Quest Einbau)
Intel HD Graphics 4000

Only becouse it´s a mac dosnt make it the perfect vj machine....

Resolume does not support intel HD cards.. they all use share memory with the rest of the system.

get a windows 7 Laptop, save your money , buy midi interfaces =)

I agree as well, if you do not need things like syphon, quarz composer or other OSX only apps go with windows you save yourself a lot of money, i got myself a dell insperion 7000 15 7537 2GB VRAM plus 16GB RAM with a Samsung EVO 840 500GB SSD. All for $1200 bucks. Complete aluminium case. Oh and i have a touch screen on 1920 x 1080.
