So, Im sure that this is a dumb question that has probably been answered before but, I didnt come across it in my searches. Here it is:

Our group has a led curtain that is 256x80. Is there any way to downsize videos to that resolution that would at least keep SOME of the clarity of the video? Every time I downsize a video to that res (I have tried putting in the full size video as well as compressing it with the dvx codec), it obviously gets very pixelated and unclear. Is there any way around this or is this just something I have to deal with?

I don't know what kind of content you have. But I would guess 16:9 or 4:3 and something in between 480x720 and 1920x1080 pixels.

Your screen is 256x80px ...what mean that it has an aspect ratio of 16:5. Soooo...non of your clips will fit the screen correctly without to deform them.

My advice would be:
1. If possible - choose clear and graphical content.
2. Downsize your clips in resolume -after- you have compressed them to DXV holding their original resolution
3. Take yourself some time before the show. Downsize and position every clip in Resolume using the -scale- and the x & y faders. Don't try to show the whole clip on the led wall... just choose the best cutout of the clip.
4. Only if you can - Produce two hands full of clips which fits natively to the wall resolution.

And...at least...what should I say? If you watch a 256x80px clip on an HD Monitor...YOU EVEN CAN CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA....you can do what you want...it's pixelated.
