as3 sockets

i used to be a flash developer so i tried to create an swf wich was going to be loaded by resolume
and the idea was to control this swf from outside resolume with another swf or "air app".
but it seems that resolume doesnt like the as3 sockets (resolume crashes when creating a socket http ), so the only way i found to communicate with a swf loaded by resolume is to use "local connection"
rigth now my system works i can send and receive strings between the swf's but i has lag
does any body knows a better approach ?
Im using resolue 4.1.8
and tried with different versions of flash player
