I'm looking for a performance laptop, and not a Mac guy at all (no offence).
http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GS70-Stealth- ... uctDetails
I've come accross this MSI GS70 with a 6GB GTX870M (Supports 3x Outputs

), and at 2k i'm planning on ordering it.
I also like that its slim(-ish) not a huge Alianware fan because of the size, other tempting offering is the new "The New Razer Blade Pro"
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade-pro
Issues with the Razer Blade Pro is only 2GB GTX 860M with only 1 HDMI output
So a breakdown of why I'm leaning to the MSI GS70 is:
MSI 6GB vRam vs Razer 2GB vram
MSI 2x mini DP + 1 HDMI (Suppose to be capable of 3x outputs plus laptop screen) vs Razer only 1 HDMI
oh and the Razer costs $800 more which i would pay for the styling but above specs i'm deff leaning to the MSI
My question is will that 6GB of vRam bandwidth play a big part in performance? Anyone from the community running any of these laptops yet?

Oh wow i missed that one in my research guess cuz its not out yet, set for Sept-Oct release date. I must say that screen looks amazing but would down res it for shows so using all the pixel power to push external content. No specs on the GTX 860M tho i'm assuming it will either be 2GB or possibly 4GB to power that 4k screen. I need outputs tho at least 2 even better 3. i'll keeo my eye on this tho I think i will be pulling the trigger for a buy in Aug sometimes. Will see how things unfold, thx for the find!

Hey Zerone, I know you're not a Mac guy but the MacBook Pro is a pretty amazing Windows machine when you use bootcamp. The only small catch is that Windows doesn't really know how to handle the retina display quite yet but other than that it performs like a champ. Also, he GT 750M GPU works great under Windows and you get 3 ouputs which can easily be extended using Matrox adapters.

Just starting at $3000.

Even *Starting* at $2500 the MSI specs blow the Mac Book pro out of the water.
At $2100 i get the same beast of a laptop at $100 bucks more and has 3x 128 SSDs running in RAID 0 gets a staggering stop read rate of 1500Mbs getting those specs on a Mac Book Pro (if even possible) wouldn't be any where near $2500 or even $3000.

I know the Mac Book Pro is an amazing machine but i'm looking to get bang for buck, but also a reliable computer which i AM willing to pay a bit of a premium for but not Mac Premium (or Alianware for that matter unless they start making "Portable Laptops")
I got a week do decide thx for the direction guys, i would love to hear from guys that have PC laptops and how they are out putting to 3x screens and running full HD content layers may 3+.
I know i'm asking for alot from a laptop but seeing these specs coming out i believe thats the route i wish to take rather then lugging a heavy desktop with me on gigs.

Sorry i'm canadian, didn't realize you guys had it so much cheaper(YO WTF Canada!). Don't know what the tax rate in the states is but i figure your paying below my 14%.
Considering thats the cost to get a 750m with zero upgrades, I think Zerone makes a good point what you can get from other pcs.

I have the asus G75VW with two ssd drives for content and one standard drive for two OS's. Sure the port selection of vga/hdmi/minidisplay isn't as versatile. But i've ran some very large comps of 5760x1080 with two layers before. Its struggling abit but it saved the show. Normally for straight VJing @1080p it actually takes anything and handles it well.
I think today, most problems aren't CPU or GPU power, its disk speed. Being able to have two separate dedicated SSD's has really helped my machine seem more powerful then it is.

That's why I am waiting for M.2 (1gB / sec and more) and the new SAS (12GB / sec) bus from Samsung, should be coming soon
