Is there a chance to open source DXV Codec in order to be supported by open source encoders like e.g. ffmpeg? It would be great to have the opportunity to use ffmpeg (which can handle pretty much every codec) in order to transcode Video Files for optimal use with Resolume Avenue and Arena.

Gonna be hard to convince the guys to open source something they put alot of time and money into. Especially when HAP is already such a great open source codec.

Support for HAP would be really nice but I doubt that's going to happen

Why don't you use MPEG Streamclip which works great for both Mac and PC's?

We have indeed no plans to open source DXV because it's a lot of work to build and maintain this.
But we will support HAP in the future.
