Beginner here - a couple of questions

Hi guys, there's a few things I'm wondering about which I can't find a response to myself-

- Placing effects on a layer instead of composition or active clip seems to stretch the output horizontally for some reason (for example stingy sphere)

- I like to use RND auto transition for some layers, however, there are a few transitions which I don't like. Is it possible to remove these from randomization?

- I like using short repeating loops - which can pose a bit of a problem when putting certain layers on auto pilot - Is there a way to make each loop run a certain amount of time (or bars) before switching to the next?

- I'm using a knob on my midi controller for global speed control. This knob also functions as a button, which I'd like to assign to reset the speed to 1.00 - it does that when right clicking it but I'm not sure if this is possible through midi?

If your Composition is set to the same high x wide then your clip no effect should stretch it. I can imagine that your clip is smaller then your composition and the effect is outside of your clip but still in the composition range.
[rightclick the clip and chose "scale to fit composition" and see what happen then / maybe it´s getting clear after]

This was asked sometimes allready and if i remember right you cant remove single transitions from the list.

Also this is a lot disscussed topic and it may be in some of the next updates, so far you can use some workarounds : viewtopic.php?f=12&t=11575

Sry cant help you with this 1, but i bet it´s possible to assigne the "button" a special value (speed 1)

Expanding on what He2neg said. One solution is to use Application MIDI mapping for the knob twist with global speed, then use Composition MIDI map to assign the button to the global speed and restrict the range to 1.00. I have similar hardware and do this often with a few parameters.

Hello googling people from the future: I've solved the RND transition question.

Go here: http://alexanderdudek.com/blog/selectin ... processing

Keep in mind for similar problems: OSC is very powerful and can control resolume in all sorts of ways. (and there's lots of tools that can generate osc messages, such as Processing)
