I wonder if you guys use some kind of Status Monitor to watch your system and if everything is in good conditions while your gigs.

Pro / Cons ?
What infos should be displayed ? (CPU / GPU / HDD / SSD...)
Which do you use / tryed ?

Just thought about getting one for the next shows but cant decide if its good or bad.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I've used HWMonitor, GPU-Z, and good o'l Windows Task Manager. Not really that terribly useful during a show. Can be good to check the temperature of your GPU I suppose.

For me GPU temperature, FPS (always on for me) and sluggishness are the best indicators of what's coming up.

Spending time with the rig in your studio and testing testing testing various combinations with the same equipment (inasmuch as possible) will give you the knowledge of what you can or cannot do safely. Also, before I do shows, I like to clean up my rigs and stay offline afterwards.

Word of advice, don't try anything that you haven't tested when your with your client or in live mode.

I use AMD System Monitor on my laptop when I am setting up a show. It monitors/visualizes CPU/GPU/RAM usage. I wouldn't run it during a show tho. Like the previous poster mentioned just use your FPS monitor in Resolume to find out if you are stressing. I just use AMD System Monitor to test my scenes/effects beforehand. Hope this helps. :D
