Origin EVO15-S review

Happy New Year! just woke up from my show last night on the 2nd stage in Seattle at Resolution NYE show. This is the first time I was able to use my new laptop so I decided to write a little review about this bad boy.
First off here's the specs.
Intel Core i7-4710HQ Quad-Core 2.50GHz (3.50GHz TurboBoost), 6MB Cache
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 6GB GDDR5
16GB DDR3L 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)

REVIEW
I'll start off by saying I have only had HP's in the past because it was all I could afford. My old machine (HP envy 15t-3200) could only hand a few clips with maybe an effect or two. Also I would lose frame rate when switching decks or opening other programs.
This is by far the best experience I've had while working with Resolume! This machine is so damn powerful. I never dropped below 45fps even while running 4 clips with multiple effects! My average FPS was around 70-80 while running a clip or two. I was able to switch decks without any loss of frame rate. And one major upside I experienced is that I was able to edit the artist logos in Photoshop and Illustrator while still running Resolume smoothly in mid set. Its pretty frustrating when you're trying to edit the artist logos and clips while you're trying to focus on your set. I was also able to extract .zip folders without any frame rate loss!
The Build:
The body itself is so damn thin and also very light which is a huge plus when you're a very mobile VJ. all I bring to shows is the APC40 MK2 and this Origin in a backpack. The downside is the body itself gets very hot
! No matter how hot the machine got my CPU Core Temp never went above 72 degrees C. The Intel Haswell chips were good at keeping the temps down.
Overall I think if you want to go mobile and have a machine that's extremely thin and light while at the same time crushing it on your set, its safe to say this laptop is one of the best on the market right now! Just be prepared to cough up $2,500 for it.
