A clip is happily playing in random BPM Sync mode. On resyncing the beat, the clip reverts to sequential playback although the random [R] button is still active. Clicking [R] again puts the clip back into random mode. Repeatable on my Arena 4.1.11 on Windows 7.

Hmmm. I tried to replicate this, but it stays on R no matter what I do.

Video clips, AV clips, setting it to R via the clip tab and the layer transport, tapping tempo, resyncing, multiplying bpm, pausing bpm, it just stays on R.

The only thing I can think of is that all our Win machines are currently running Win 8. Can anyone confirm this occurs for them on Win 7?

what happens is when I click resync, the playhead jumps to the first beat , then continues playing linear, then on the 12th beat it begins jumping randomly again.

Just to clarify - the mode stays on R but the play-head moves sequentially.

Just tested again on demo install (using benchmark file) again on Windows 7. Here, after resync, it plays sequentially but eventually returns to random mode sometimes after a few beats sometimes not until it has looped once.

It sounds like a similar ticket we already have.

When you reset a clip set to BPM Sync Random to the beginning ( by retriggering or jumping to a cue point ), it will stick in Timeline mode until it reaches the point where it was retriggered and then continue in Random. This sounds pretty much like what you are experiencing, right?

The only thing is that for me, on MacOS and Win8, when I hit Resync and the clip is in Random mode, the clip is not reset to the beginning. In fact the playhead doesn't respond at all. It just keeps on playing in Random mode.

I'll install Win 7 on one of the test machines and see what that gives.
