MBP retina with Triplehead

Hi,

I need help. Got a task to connect 5 projectors to Retina MacBook pro, early 2013 with Intel graphics.
Theatre already got some projectors and VGA cables.
Matrox compatibility wizard outputs two models: TripleHead2Go DP Edition and TripleHead2Go Digital SE.
Which model is more suitable? I will need converters to VGA also.
Anyone worked with something similar?

cheers,

M.

If the theatre has VGA cables already run, get the TripleHead2Go DP Edition and buy some DP to VGA adapters (I personally prefer active adapters). Depending on the length of the runs, I would also get some VGA amps.

The TripleHead2Go Digital SE has DVI-D outputs (not DVI-A or DVI-I) so you wouldn't be able to use a the regular DVI to VGA adapters that are meant for DVI-A or DVI-I.

Two DP to VGA active adapters to consider:
  • Accell B101B-003B-2 DisplayPort to VGA Active Adapter ~$25 on Amazon
Cirago DisplayPort to VGA Active Adapter ~$15 on Amazon

Nice info. Thnx Oaktown. Runs are 25m longest. So far it worked without amp (just TB (or DP not sure) to VGA but I heard that Tripleheads can give headaches on longer runs. Will put active converters just to be on the safe side. I will let you know how it all went :))
