How to "Flip" content on a second screen?

Hello!

I was wondering what is the easiest way to show an equal but "flipped" image on a second screen; so that if two screens were side-by-side an image of an arrow pointing left would become the image of an arrow pointing right on the other screen. Kind of like a mirror image

I would also like to engage/disengage the "flipped" effect on the fly, preferably by midi or dmx.

I know this is possible by creating 2 similar layers, but making sure that all effects/clip changes happen at the same time on both layers is quite the process. I was hoping that the flip could be possible after the composition stage, to keep more mixing options possible while keeping the images on both screens similar...

Thanks, guys!

Set the second projector to flip output (perhaps floor+rear). Not very flexible but quick and easy.

You can use the advanced output to achieve this

I second DayVeeJay.

It's much easier to use the advanced output than the projector Rear Projection function.

That way, since you are front projecting, you can still read your projector menus with having to read backwards

Flipp after the composition stage is only possible with the projektor itself (see #2)
but then you cant change this setting

the other option mentioned here was use the advance out put menu, this is also only a one time thing and not as fast to change live (and also not via osc / dmx /..)

You have to do this stuff inside your composition, seperate layers for let & layers for the right pic;
Take Layer 1 for the left screen & layer 2 for the right
use collom triggering and the parameter of rotaion to achive what you want to do.

make your composition 2x wide,say it was a 640x480 comp then X=1280 , Y=480

shift all layers -1*X/4 pixels (to the left), except the top layer, which will be used for the mirror image.
set top layer Anchor X to X/4 pixels.
place a layer router to top layer. you find it in Sources, input source set to composition.
now you can Rotate Y the layer router to 180degrees. <= This you can control wilt dmx or midi or osc or keyboard

now slice up advanced output accordingly to the 2 outputs.

If all you want to do is flip the image on a second output then I would use the advanced output. If you want to be able to control this with midi or OSC I would make a comp with an extra layer. This topmost layer would contain a layer router with the input set to composition. Then you can use the advanced output to send just this layer to your second projector. Remember to disable layer opacity on that slice. Now all you have to do is turn the layer opacity all the way down and play with the transform parameters of the layer router.

**EDIT**
To easily change the settings on the fly add a second layer router with different transform parameters. You can double this layer to do change the parameters for the other projector on the fly.
Now to change them at the same time you have two options. The first is to use a column trigger and set all other layers to ignore column triggers. The second would be to use Visution's IR OSCA plugin. It's free and very powerful. This plugin sends out OSC commands so you can trigger another router when you switch your "mirror effect" on/off.

You may also be able to do all of this with a mirror effect and the advanced output. There's a number of ways this can be achieved.
