Also when you pick a projector, don't forget to take size and weight into consideration especially if you are going to do installations with intense projection angle.
For instance:
With its 45,000 lumens and 4K resolution, the Christie Roadie 4K45 4K DLP projector (release date March 2015) is probably going to be as good as it gets but at 287 pounds NL, you'll need a small army to move it around and the price tag will give you nightmares!
Because of their weight and punch, my 3 favorite all-around projectors right now are :
- Christie Roadster HD14K-M 1080 HD DLP (1920 x 1080): 13,500 lumens with 3-chip DLP, 55 pounds NL ~$35,000
Panasonic PT-DZ870 WUXGA (1920x1200): 12,000 lumens with 1-chip DLP, 39 pounds NL ~ $14,000
Panasonic PT-DX100 XGA (1024x768): 10,000 lumens with 1-chip DLP, 39 pounds NL ~ $8,000,
Keep in mind that all the prices above are without lens and lenses can be quite expensive! Both Panasonic projectors will work with the new Panasonic ET-DLE030 ultra-short-throw lens.
