Hi All!
Anyone manage to work the Knob named CUE LEVEL on APC 40?
Mine just have 2 states (begin and end)

Remember the APC40 was made to control Ableton Live so there is no direct relationship between the knobs and Resolume which means you need to map your knobs and buttons to do whatever you want.

If you're trying to scratch the active clip, then just assign the clip timeline to one of the endless knobs (any of the 16 device or track control knobs)on the APC40.

You can also do that using OSC and the /activeclip/video/position/values syntax which is (Float 0.0 - 1.0) range (0.0 - 147897.8)

With others knobs, But:
- doesn't have the same fluidity of other programs (or maybe i can't get to work right)
- on long videos jump seconds (terribly bad)

Can someone with a APC tell what i should do to have a smooth scratch?

Actually, although most knobs on the APC40 appear endless, they send out regular absolute values in the 1...127 range. Once you twist them past the end or beginning, they just keep sending out 127 or 1, respectively.

The only knob good for scratching is the Cue knob, because this is the only real relative dial.

Once you have it mapped, set its Mode to Relative (63-65) and check Invert. You can then set the step size to however big you want your scratches to be. A step size of 1 means you will scratch 1 frame backwards and forwards with each turn of the knob.
Keep in mind that this step size is relative to the length of your clip, so the steps will be bigger on longer clips and smaller on shorter ones.

Now I'm off to sit in a corner and giggle about the fact that I wrote 'knob good for scratching' a few sentences ago.

On short clips it work nice, on longer clips not realy (but at least is a little better than timeline).

For Scratching videos I use the horizontal fader (located below Play | Rec | Stop buttons). For me using a fader for scratching videos works way better than using a knob. It is more intuitive.

I Understand that some people use that fader for mixing channels A and B but Since I have every layer opacity assigned to the vertical faders on my APC40 I don't really need to have the A <-> B feature on my controller.

And for when I do need the A <-> B feature (Usually when VJing for EDM DJs) I usually use the FaderSA plug in. Which automates the fader.

Like I said I do not use the horizontal fader for mixing A <-> B channels but to scratch videos instead.

If you want to use it for A <-> B mixing you have to assign that fader on your APC to crossfader on Resolume interface (Located above the Output Monitor). Please see picture below.
With the following settings:
Don't forget that in order to get the A <-> B mixing feature working you will have to select what layers (or layer) is on channel A and what layers is on channel B when VJing
But on the other hand If you want to use the horizontal fader for scratching like I do then you have to assign the fader on your APC to the timeline of selected clip on Resolume
using the following settings:
So now you scratch the selected clip back and forwards very intuitively and once you release the fader the video will resume to its play mode.
