Effects: Comp vs Layer vs Clips

Hi everyone.
I have this gig coming up on next weekend and client requested all content to be really really psychedelic, the type of make people sick after drinking and watching that for more than a couple of minutes. Okidoki then...
I am not going to create new content for that, so I went after Resolume built in effects.
In less than two minutes I was able to find 3 or 4 effects, that combined are taking to the screen the desired results.
Now... my first thoughts was to apply effects on composition only. This is just perfect.
Unfortunately, I needed one single layer effects free, to load a couple of logos on top of the psychedelic content. I can´t exclude a layer from the composition effects ; (
Other options would be to add all effects to all layers but one. Or to add them to each one of the clips.
What worries me is that if I do that I may end up with a very low FPS rate and ruin the gig.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Paulo

was allready disscussed in a different topic,
its not possible to set 1 layer effect free.

you need to put all the effects on the layer side and then use them there, but you can use osc / midi comands for all effects on all layers at once.
My Bad i´m sorry, and thanks for the solution!!!

Dude.

Effect clips.

Content on layer 1 through 5, effect clip with your 4 psychedelic effects on layer 6, promotor logo on layer 7.

Yes, that will work. But I will need different effects´ layers becaue I need to apply a couple of them to achieve the desired effect. It would be nice if it was possible to save a group of effects in a single effect clip. "Save as" a new effect and apply them at once when using the effect clip.

Sounds like something you could easily do using layer routers. Load up your desired effect in the router and assign layers to the router.

You can toss as many effects as you want on an effect clip.

Aside from the "Save as" bit, that's exactly what an effect clip does.

Btw, an Effect Clip is essentially a Layer Router set to Comp, with effects applied.

I always tought that a layer router set to compostition would get the input from the point after composition effects.
So having never really used it in this setting, now I realize that it gets the source texture in this setting from the layers mixed together below the layer it is put in, not actually the "Composition" :O
