Hello,

I've only ever used Arena 4 with 1 projector from my 2011 MBP. I've been asked last minute if I can run 3 projectors for a gig this upcoming Friday. A variety of projectors, VGA, DVI, and one HDMI. My MBP has 16 gigs of ram, and one of the USB ports is dedicated to my MIDI controller, the other USB port or /FireWire port is dedicated to my audio interface.

What would be the best splitter or external device to preferably split all 3 projectors from my mini display port? Or would 2 projectors be the maximum with my other port constraints? I'd prefer not to shell out for a Triplehead but if that's the best solution for me, so be it. It can only help me get more gigs in the future.

My recommendation would be to shell out for a Matrox TH2G but keep in mind that the maximum res for 3 outputs will be 4080x768 (3x 1360x768)

As you need to supply a range of scaled outputs I would suggest the Datapath X4 is more suited to the task.
See if you can hire one, you'll need windows to programme it but it's easy enough

The Datapath X4 would indeed be a much better video processor but it also costs 5 to 6 times as much as the Matrox TH2G.

And you are absolutely right, if you can't set all your outputs to be the same resolution (they can still be VGA, DVI or HDMI), the Matrox TH2G might not be the right approach.
