Jocool isn't alone in having this problem I'd like to note!
I am also using an Enttec DMX USB PRO, and similarly I've been able to get Enttec's PRO Manager to successfully ID the device, the main difference between us however is that I'm not running El Capitan
(
and at this rate I never will. I need my SU / legacy drivers!)
I'm still on 10.10.5 Yosemite.
Anyway, I'm going to get to the point to avoid waisting everyone's time; this issue has already caused me a great deal of hardship (I had to wipe my machine after the FTDI VCP drivers trashed my kernal extensions).
The question here for the Resolume's Developers:
Does Resolume natively use Apple's FTDI Driver kext? or does it need that to be disabled and somehow have FTDI's D2XX drivers magically work?
It's the difference between seeing this (with the AppleFTDI drivers enabled / D2XX drivers installed):
And THIS (Just D2XX Drivers installed, AppleFTDI kext unloaded):
(
I took these before I upgraded to 5.1 btw, but that hasn't fixed the problem)
From what I know I can tell you the latter image is more disconcerting, it gives less information, needless to say neither of these configurations work. Enttec's own PRO-Manager software only needs the built in AppleFTDI drivers to function, which is why I was hoping Arena 5 would be that way too. I have the D2XX drivers installed, and I've experimented with disabling and enabling the Apple kext, if Arena works with the D2XX drivers- they don't have a kext they just have a bunch of dylibs in
usr/local/lib - I have no idea how to load them! They don't seem to have the agency to create a serial interface to the thing which I can see in
/dev.
This is how I know the Apple one is enabled, but thusfar I've found nothing that can replace it:
There are so many potential courses of action here, I could try to do something to the D2XX drivers to make them do something, I could try the VCP drivers again and pray to god that they don't destroy everything...
Or I could wait until
someone from Resolume hopefully reads this post; after all the Resolume manual, Arena 5 promo video and even the store all feature
sexy pictures of Enttec devices working with the software on OSX. Please tell me they weren't photoshopped? Please, tell us your secrets! How did you setup your Entec box? I've read both parts of the manual, the part about input and output. PRO-Manager isn't running, wasn't running - the thread is all yours.
That's all I've got to say. I've tried to put as much evidence forward as possible and build on the last post

. Looking forward to a response.
Thank you~
