Can Resolume Arena work synchronously with Editol V4EX? Please comment on this.

What are you trying to accomplish? If you want to input the output of the Edirol into Resolume, you will need a capture card. Outputting Resolume to the Edirol should be easy. And if you want the two units to play side-by-side then you should be able to synchronize them using SMPTE.

Hi Oaktown .

Thanks for your reply. Thing is, I don't want to control multiple visuals using a mouse from my PC and then again trying my best to keep sync of visuals with the music from a dj.

So. I want to use Edirol v4EX for mainly scalability and flexibility that's all. I want to control the visuals with more ease using V4 but controlling Resolume. I only want to touch the PC when doing video mapping and also adding more visuals into the banks that's it. The controlling and BPM sync and mixing the visuals must be through V4.

I hope I'm making sense. As for SMPTE , I just need to make more research about it. I'm new to this and I'm just gathering more information before I hit the clubs.

I don't think this mixer has SMPTE input.
as for midi, I think it is more for controlling the mixers functions.
You can get the mixers manual from the web, this should be clarified in it better.
Also keep i n mind that this is an SD mixer, meaning you will only have SD output, that is 720x576 for Pal.

For controlling resolume you should look for a dedicated midi controller. You can get one for a fraction of the price of the v4ex.

Thanks Revensec.

Last night I viewed that the AKAI APC40 can control Resolume's features. I later watched a clip by Armand van Buuren on YouTube where he demonstrates his setups for events that need visuals . He works alongside a VJ.

They have four pioneer CDJs . Two of them are for Aramnd when he does the djaying part. The other two are inerconnected with Armand's two CDJs. So when Aramnd plays a tune lets say using the right deck, the other CDJ next to the right deck, it has some SMPTE configuration or connection to the VJ's laptop or the AKAI, not too sure. That SMPTE automatically syncronizes with the visuals and then lyrics of the song are being also displayed on the visuals "wtf".. That's amazing. But from watching the clip, I just didn't understand much but from that video clip, that's basically how I want to appear like in events in my country soon as I'm ready.

Please view the clip on YouTube or I'll just share a link just now. Please guide me on how to archive that kind of setup so i can do the very same in clubs/pubs.

Peace..

It synchronises with the laptop, so the SMPTE signal is going into the audio input of the laptop.
here is the part from the manual for SMPTE setup : https://resolume.com/manual/en/r4/contr ... arena_only

and this is an online tool to generate your SMPTE tracks: http://elteesee.pehrhovey.net/
don't play the SMPTE track on high volume, it could damage your speakers and ears!

mostly for multi screen setups a video mixer is not needed between the laptop and the display.
(You could howewer use that mixer as an input source in resolume if it has directShow.)
