composition files compatability on mac and pc

Hi gang,
My Mac may have just died and I'm considering getting a PC laptop next cos they're more cost-effective and you can't upgrade the new macs. What I'm wondering is if I change to PC will my (Mac-created) compositions still work on a PC or will I have to start again from scratch?
Thanks! Suzybee :-)

they will work all fine,
the built in plugins will work also,
not sure about third party plugins which have osx and win versions.

you will only have to reconnect your media, as the paths will be different

I build all my shows on a Mac in my studio but I run most of them on a PC and I have no issues. To make transferring comps easier, I always keep all my media in one folder per show so it's easy to reconnect.

Keep in mind that in addition to comp and media you'll have to move presets (screensetup & vfx), preferences (all custom mappings - keyboard, OSC, DMX and MIDI). Since you're moving from one to the next, you should be able to just grab the Resolume folder located in your Documents folder and replace the one installed by Resolume on your PC. Joris?

In theory that's safe to do.

Only the config.xml does store some absolute paths, so they will be different from computer to the next. I'm not 100% sure how Resolume will react if those paths don't exist anymore, but you can just delete the config.xml if there's any trouble.
