Playing animation with alpha randomly over Video clips

Hi guys,
I'll start by saying; I'm very new to Resolume. i've been through the manual, searched the forum and watched several tutorials but im failing to find the answers i need.
*Basically* i’m involved in a collaborative project thats working towards a live half hour performance.
The other artist i’m working with is shooting live action 16:9 film while im making small, looping animations with alpha channels to sit over the film. originally we had hoped to play them at random over each other on the night to make a generative piece of work (sort of creates itself on the night), we’ve been told by the people running the event that modul8 cant play two channels at random. so were looking to run this ‘simulation’ before the event, record it and display it a single video. were super keen to have it play at random even if its not live.
What im now looking to do is to create this effect in Res.4, record it and play it live, i was hoping somebody here might be able to point me in the right direction in terms of playing these layers back randomly, but at different times, also looping the individuals animations more than once (they are roughly 50 frames each but loop perfectly, like a GIF)
also does anybody know what video format supports premultiplied alpha so i can import animations with alpha channels into resolume? also is it possible to import image sequences?
i am currently using the trial version to see if what i need to do is possible, after which i will purchase the full software.
let me know if youve got any ideas.
thanks!
Jack
