Composition transitions slow and stutter

Hi

I am trying to make a composition using 10 different album covers playing over the same audio loop

- fist column with an effect like kaleidoscope that transitions to the full album cover flying out of the kaleidoscope.

-Dissolve to next effected album cover flying full … etc.

When I try to perform this. The transition is is low and stuttered and the effected layer comes through on the dissolve.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting frustrated.

What kind of computer are you using and what's your comp & output setup?

I'm using a 2010 MBP Core i7 8gb ram

My comp is 640x480 most of the files I am using are jpg's. Any video is converted to DXV. I'm not outputting anywhere yet, just viewing in resolume.

Do you have a discreet GPU on your MBP?

At 640x480, you shouldn't have any issues so that's weird. What else are you running on your computer at the same time?

My guess is the .jpgs are a little bigger than 640x480.
