Hi guys,
I would like to ask for your help. I am a beginner in mapping and try to find out how I could project moving lines onto edges of a 3D object. I can cover the edges by thin slices but I am not sure that is the best way for it. Could you share it’s technic please?
Thank you in advance

depending on how complex your 3d object is you could try the opposite, masking all the surfaces you don't need to project on.
you can create masks with built in effects, place them on an empty clip on a layer above your lines video,
adjust accordingly, you can place multiple crop/mask effect on the same clip.
when you have finished you can take a snapshot of them with Control-Shift-P but ejecting the lines clip first.
this way you get a transparent png with just the mask you created.
then you can play this png on top of any video, or drag it onto the video clip to be a clip mask.
plus side you don't need complex slices for this, so this can be done in avenue too.

Hey ravensc,
Thank you for tip , good idea I will test it.
And I suppose the most refined way is making animated lines in After Effects or any 3D software that fit to my object .
Thanks again
