at the end of this month (Jan 29th) im VJin properly for the first time to a large audience. Will be at Antiworld (techno event) at SE1 in London.
The event is just over 14 hours long an im just a little concerned over the stability of resolume, dont get me wrong it is a first class package but i have a question about which version is more stable? version 1.51 or the 2.0? what are the chances of it all crashing a few hours into the event?

i take it 2.0 is better than the previous edition?

as alot of people are finding resolume works better with different configurations of hardware and different versions of windows,
you should probably test your computer out for a 14 hour gig, even if you just leave resolume on with caoss mode it will still give you a sign as to how stable it is.

i have found that resolume is pretty stable as long as you've spent alot of time testing it for bugs. on my computer resolume locks up only when i perform certain actions. there are just a few, but they could potentially stop the whole program.
to keep our show smooth we always take a small dvd player and a video mixer along with the laptop. this allows me to switch to the dvd and restart resolume. i don't have to do this very often, but knowing i have a back up relieves some unneccessary stress.

before we could afford a video mixer, i used a cheap sony video switcher to switch to the dvd or a camera if things start to get hairy.

btw. i've tested every piece of vj software available, for pc and mac, and i have been able to lock up every single one of them.

hehe, our solution was to have at least a decent background pic of our group

during a gig 2beta2 crashed like 4 or 5 times, obviously while playing with the firewire DV-Cam and while performing certain actions we couldnt remember back then :D

ah right..
well i dont think i will have a back up plan, as i dont have that much equipment - just my PC with aload of footage, resolume.. and im gonna buy a Evolution X-session controller in the next 2 weeks. Think i mite be able to get my hand on a video camera also to shoot footage and relay through the firewire port

So if it does lock up im just gonna have to rebot quite sharpish
